A Letter to the Political Action Committees

Wayne M. Doherty
Candidate for N.H. House of Representatives
17 Blue Heron Drive
Portsmouth, N.H. 03801
(603) 765-6416

Dear Friends,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for asking me to fill out your survey. The answers I have provided are my own personal views, but not necessarily how I would vote.

In keeping with my own platform and promise, I am elected to represent the people in District 16, therefore I am obligated to follow their instructions when I vote on a piece of legislation. If this legislation involved your organization I would of course contact you and hear what you have to say and I also would contact any proponents of this Bill for their input. I would then form an opinion and present this to my constituents. At that point, the voters will tell me how they want me to vote.

I hope this will not dissuade your membership from supporting my candidacy. I will always be fair and present the facts to the voters. I look forward to your support in the upcoming elections.

Respectfully,

Wayne M. Doherty

A letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,
I am writing to you for a few different reasons, one of which is to announce that I am seeking a position as a State Representative in District 16, Portsmouth/Newington. I hope your readers will look at my blog to see what I am about, or they can call me or email me to talk and see if I have what they think it takes to represent them in Concord. My blog is at http://doherty4staterep.blogspot.com.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our current elected Representatives and Senators in Concord. I may not agree with their views or their votes, but they have made the sacrifice. It is a thankless job, and we all know, you can’t please all the people, all the time. Thank you for your service.
It is time we get back to basics and that starts with elected officials who actually represent the people, not their own self serving agenda. Lets go to Concord, put our ego’s behind us, forget what party your from…… and take care of the people you swore to represent, be open to new idea’s and be open to compromise and always, be open and available to the public.
I have been reading the papers, online blogs and watched Glenn Beck for the past several weeks and all I hear is Democrats blaming Republicans, and Republicans blaming Democrats, we can’t blame the Tea Party; they haven’t been around that long. I blame the people, and I include myself in that group. Year after year, we vote in the same people who do the same thing, raise taxes, and spend money, we don’t have. They make promises they can not keep, and in the end……… blame the other party !
My final thought, I would like to extend my congratulations’ and best wishes to the 103 new Americans that were sworn in on July 4th in Portsmouth. They followed the rules, they came here with valid Visa’s, obtained their green cards, work permits, studied English and American history, and took a test and they passed. If we grant amnesty to the thousands that have crossed our borders illegally, that would be an insult to these fine people, and all Americans.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and my sincerest appreciation to this newspaper for printing it. I hope you will support me and the other Republicans who are running for office in New Hampshire. I will be more than happy to speak with any one or any group at anytime; we are New Hampshire’s future.

Respectfully,

Wayne M. Doherty

Where I Stand

These are my personal views, but if I were your elected official I would have to vote for the majority regardless of my opinion. At least that was the intention of our founding Fathers.

1. Smaller government
2. Lower Taxes
3. I support our second Amendment
4. Bring more health insurers back to NH. No government mandated health care
5. No sales or income tax
6. Balanced budget amendment
7. Term Limits for all elected officials
8. Support our small business's
9. Voluntarily agreed to limit campaign expenses

We Need To Act Now

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I think we all know by now that things are not so good here in the Granite State. Over the past year and a half I have watched our state and country fall apart before my eyes. I got angry about what was happening and decided I had to do something. The first thing that set me off, was the passing of the health care bill, I really was not upset about the bill itself, after all, bills can be repealed. But when 75% of the American people told Congress that they did not want it, they jammed it down our throats........... since when is an elected official smarter than the people...... ?? One Congresswoman refused to meet with the voters in her district, citing it was below her station to address these people !!
Here at home we have record spending, Concord is spending money like drunken sailors, and I know, even drunken sailors run out of money. The State Legislature went home recently, all proud of themselves that they covered the budget shortfalls. Of course they did, they raised about 38 taxes and fees across the board !! They are trying to transfer state properties between departments to give the illusion that they made money, they want to steal money from Doctors malpractice suits reserve. They want a toll booth on route 93 in Salem, can you imagine ??
It seems to me that the majority in Concord can't seem to put our purse in the safe and leave it alone, I would hate to go shopping at the Fox Run Mall with these people, they would just keep spending and get irritated if one of us poor people asked them what they were doing.
It has come to the point that we need a change ( I only have pocket change left) we need to go to the polls and send a loud and clear message, we need to tell Concord, and Washington to Stop it !! just stop it !! Please help me, and support me this fall........ in my next post, will tell you more but in the mean time, please feel free to call me, post here, or email me....... I need your help and my fellow Republicans need your help. Lets restore New Hampshire to what she was, small Government, low taxes, business friendly and a great place to live and work !!
I will be more than happy, to sit down with any person, organazation, neighborhood group, news paper, radio station, or TV station and share my views. I do promote transparency in goverment and I promise.......... you will not need X-ray vision glasses to see behind the doors !!
